NOTE: The Zip® ATAPI drive uses the computer's onboard IDE interface. See Understanding IDE/ATAPI Connections for important information.
- Unpack the Zip ATAPI drive.
CAUTION! Touch a grounded metal object (like an unpainted metal screw on the back of your computer) before handling the Zip ATAPI drive. This will discharge any buildup of personal static electricity that may damage your drive as you install it.

NOTES:
You will need to purchase a Zip disk to use your Zip drive (no Zip disks are included in this package).
Mounting brackets may or may not be attached to the drive. If your installation requires mounting brackets and they are not on the drive, refer to the installation instructions on the Universal Kit box included with the drive.
The jumper that shipped with your Zip drive is not always needed for proper installation. See Understanding IDE Connections for important jumper information.
