Iomega Mini USB Drive Quick Install Guide

Startup Instructions

IMPORTANT! Windows® 98/98SE users: You must download and install the USB Update Module from our web site: www.iomega.com/software/

Mac® OS 8.6 users: Download USB Mass Storage 1.3.5 from: www.apple.com

Windows Me/2000/XP users, and Mac OS 9.X and up: Your system already supports USB.

  1. Start your computer, wait for the operating system to load, remove the cap from the Iomega® Mini USB drive and plug it into any USB port on your computer.

    PC users: The Iomega Mini USB drive icon will appear in My Computer or Windows Explorer.

    Mac users: The Iomega Mini USB drive icon will appear on the desktop.

    The "butterfly" shaped light pulsing slowly means the Iomega Mini USB drive is on. A faster pulse means it is transferring data.

    CAUTION! Do not remove the Iomega Mini USB drive during data transfer; data loss may occur.

  2. The Iomega Mini USB drive is ready to use just like any other removable drive connected to your computer. To start using the Iomega Mini USB drive, click on the icon in My Computer, Windows Explorer or on the Mac desktop.
  3. Double-click the Click Here icon to register your Iomega Mini USB drive and download cool software. You will need internet access.
  4. To remove the Iomega Mini USB drive, make sure the drive is not transferring data.

    PC users: Click on the Remove Hardware icon on the right side of the taskbar to stop the Iomega Mini USB drive, then remove it. (Windows 98/98SE users will not see this icon, simply remove the Iomega Mini USB drive.)

    Mac users: Drag the Iomega Mini USB drive icon to the trash before removing.

  5. To format the Iomega Mini USB drive, use the system format utilities on PC or Mac.

    CAUTION! All data currently on the Iomega Mini USB drive will be erased during format. Copy the Click Here information to your desktop before formatting.
