What is Iomega Storage Manager?

Iomega TV includes Iomega Storage Manager software to manage and use advanced network features, including Iomega Personal Cloud services, shared and active folders, and media server features. The storage manager admin console is built-in on the Iomega TV. The Iomega Storage Manager client application program available on the Solutions CD lets you easily connect to the admin console from any computer on your network (see Accessing the Iomega TV Admin Console for more information.

Iomega Storage Manager is designed for ease-of-use, so you will probably be able to use many features without referring to this manual. If you need more information on any feature of the software, check this section of the manual or use the manual's search feature. Accessing the Iomega TV Admin Console

The easiest way to enter the Iomega TV admin console is to install and run the Storage Manager client on a networked computer. You can then use the Iomega icon from the system tray (Windows) or menu bar (Mac OS) to open the console.

If you want to access the Iomega TV admin console without installing the software, you can use a browser window on a networked computer to enter the console's web interface.

  1. Install the Iomega Storage Manager client software from the Solutions CD. See Installing the Storage Manager Client for detailed instructions.

  2. Once the installation completes, the Iomega Storage Manager icon will appear in the system tray (Windows) or Menu Bar (Mac) and your computer will automatically be connected to Iomega TV's shared folders.

    NOTE: The Iomega Storage Manager will automatically scan your network and connect to available shared folders. If you receive a message from your operating system's firewall alerting you of network activity, click the Unblock button.

  3. Right click on the Iomega Storage Manager icon and select Manage

    NOTE: If you have more than one Iomega network device, you will need to select your drive, then select Manage.

The first time you access the Iomega TV admin console, you will not see a login screen. The login screen will only appear if you choose to set up an administrator password. You will then need to enter the password on the login screen each time you access the console.


Windows Users:

  1. Enter the machine name or IP address of Iomega TV the URL field of your web browser.

    By default, your Iomega TV should have the name IomegaTV.

    You can find your Iomega TV's IP address or MAC address on the Iomega Storage Manager Home→Status screen. The field labeled LAN IP Address contains your Iomega TV's IP address.

  2. If you have created an administrator password, enter it on the password screen, then click Log in.

    NOTE: You will see the password screen only if you have created an administrator password. By default, there is no administrator password.


Mac Users:

Mac OS X users can use Apple's Bonjour (formerly Rendezvous) technology to configure Iomega TV (requires 10.3 or higher). To use Bonjour:

  1. Open the Safari web browser. Click on the button. From the Collections pane on the left-hand side, select Bonjour (or Rendezvous). The Iomega TV should appear in the Bookmark pane on the right-hand side. Double click Iomega TV to enter Iomega Storage Manager.

    The default name of your Iomega TV is IomegaTV.

  2. If you have created an administrator password, enter it on the password screen, then click Log in.

    NOTE: You will see the password screen only if you have created an administrator password. By default, there is no administrator password.

Installing the Storage Manager Client

You can install the Iomega Storage Manager client on any networked computer where you might want access to the Iomega TV admin console. Use the Solutions CD to install the client application. Click here for detailed instructions.

NOTE: It is not necessary to install the client application as you can access the Iomega TV admin console without it. See Accessing the Iomega TV Console for more information.

Creating an Administrator

The Iomega TV admin console does not have a default administrator password, so initially there is no administrator. If you want to create an administrator to control who can make changes using the Iomega TV console, create an administrator password following the instructions below.

NOTE: You will not see the password screen when accessing the Iomega TV console until you create an administrator password.

  1. Access the Iomega TV admin console.

  2. Click on System on the left side of the screen, then click the Settings tab.

  3. Scroll down to Admin Password.

  4. Leave the Old Password field blank.

  5. Enter your desired password in the New Password field

  6. Verify your new password by re-entering it in the Confirm Password field.

  7. Click Save Password


  1. Access the Iomega TV admin console.

  2. Enter the current administrator password, then click Log in.

    NOTE: You will see the password screen only if you have created an administrator password. By default, there is no administrator password.

  3. Click on System on the left side of the screen, then click the Settings tab.

  4. Scroll down to Admin Password.

  5. Enter the current password in the Old Password field.

  6. Enter your desired password in the New Password field

  7. Verify your new password by re-entering it in the Confirm Password field.

  8. Click Save Password
