Windows® reports the Iomega® Hard Drive as a generic Local Disk drive and a non-Iomega drive string may be present
Document # 11273.html

To make the Iomega® Hard Drive more compatible with different operating systems and to make it easier to upgrade to larger capacity drives in the future, Iomega has decided to keep the original firmware on the drives used in the external Iomega Hard Drive family.

Because of this, the icon reported by Windows in My Computer may appear as a generic Local Disk drive icon and the drive string may show the Iomega Hard Drive as either an Iomega, IBM®, Fujitsu® or generic device.
