Troubleshooting an Iomega® parallel port drive not detected with an HP® OfficeJet® R60 printer
Document # 10155.html

Important: If you are having problems detecting your parallel port drive in Windows® 98/95 and you have printer software installed (the printer need not be attached), check the version of Iomega® software you have installed. If you have a IomegaWare™ version under 2.5, upgrading to the latest IomegaWare software will correct most issues with parallel port software on your computer. The IomegaWare software can be downloaded from the Iomega Web site at http://www.iomega.com/software/

If after installing the IomegaWare software you cannot access your Iomega parallel port drive with an HP® OfficeJet® R60 printer attached, use the following steps to solve the problem.

  1. Click Start and select Run.

  2. Type msconfig then click OK.

  3. Select the Startup tab.

  4. Remove the check mark from hpmdldwa to prevent it from loading at startup.

  5. Restart your computer.

Note: For more information about your printer, associated drivers or software contact HP at http://www.hp.com
