Troubleshooting an Iomega® parallel port drive not detected with an HP® OfficeJet® 1150C Multifunction printer
Document # 10150.html

Important: If you are having problems detecting your parallel port drive in Windows® 98/95 and you have printer software installed (the printer need not be attached), check the version of Iomega® software you have installed. If you have a IomegaWare™ version under 2.5, upgrading to the latest IomegaWare software will correct most issues with parallel port software on your computer. The IomegaWare software can be downloaded from the Iomega web site at http://www.iomega.com/software/

If your drive is still not detected, use the following instructions to disable the HP® OfficeJet 1150C Status Monitor.

  1. Click Start and select Find.

  2. Select Files or Folders.

  3. Type HPMCFGXC.

  4. Select OK.

  5. When found, double-click the HPMCFGXC file.

  6. Select Continue.

  7. Remove the check mark from the following options:

    • Bi-directional Communication.

    • Display Toolbox When Printing.

  8. Select OK.

  9. Select Yes to restart Windows.
