Getting Started

NOTE: The Zip^® ATAPI drive uses the computer's onboard IDE interface. See Understanding IDE/ATAPI Connections for important information.

1. Unpack the Zip^® ATAPI drive.

   CAUTION! Before handling the Zip^® ATAPI drive, touch a grounded metal object (like an unpainted metal screw on the back of your computer) to discharge any buildup of personal static electricity.

   

   NOTE: The jumper that shipped with your Zip^® drive is not always needed for proper installation. See Understanding IDE Connections for important jumper information.

   NOTE: A 250MB* Zip^® disk is not included and will need to be purchased in order to use your Zip drive. For maximum reliability, use only genuine 250MB* Zip disks.

2. Install your Zip ATAPI drive.

3. Install the IomegaWare software.

*250MB capacity where 1MB = 1 million bytes. The capacity reported by your operating system may vary.
