Frequently asked questions for Zip® 250 USB
Document #30141e.html

When I copy files to a Zip® 100 disk in my Zip 250 USB drive, the copy process is very slow and my system appears to be locked up. What should I do ?

You can verify that the Zip 250 USB drive is operating correctly during the file copy procedure by checking the green light on the button. If the light is on or blinking irregularly and then goes out, the file copy process is complete and your system will be available again.

There is a sticker with black writing under the blue cover of my Zip 250 USB drive. Is this something I should be aware of ?

No, the black writing is for internal use only.

Can I change the drive letter of my Zip 250 USB drive in Windows NT® ?

You can change the drive letter of your Zip 250 USB drive in Windows NT if you are using service pack 4 or 5. The drive letter cannot be changed if you are using service pack 3 or lower.

When I insert or eject my Zip 250 disks, my Zip 250 USB drive makes strange engaging noises. Is this normal ?

Yes. The Zip 250 USB drive mechanism is somewhat different than the other external Zip drives and may make different sounds when inserting or ejecting disks.

Is the Zip 250 USB drive compatible with Windows NT ?

Yes, with the USB connection. Windows NT does not support the Zip 250 PC Card option at this time.
