If you are using a rewriteable disc, such as a CD-RW, DVD+RW or DVD-RW disc, you can format the disc using Iomega® HotBurn® (HotBurn Pro version 2.3.1 or higher for DVD discs) as long as the drive supports the disc type used. Non-rewriteable CD-R, DVD+R and DVD-R discs cannot be formatted using any version of HotBurn.
Refer to the questions below for help on determining whether to format or erase your CD or DVD disc.
Note: Drag and drop capabilities are not available on a Macintosh® computer.
Do you want to prepare a blank disc for drag and drop capabilities or remove all of the information on a disc and then drag and drop information to and from the disc afterwards?
Format the disc - The disc must be formatted in order for you to drag and drop information to and from the disc. Formatting a disc will remove all of the information previously written to the disc and will place a UDF format on the disc. Once the disc is formatted, you can drag and drop information to and from the disc.

Do you want to erase all of the information on a disc and remove the format that makes drag and drop burning possible?
Full or Quick Erase the disc - If you do a Full or Quick Erase, all of the information on the disc will be erased, including the format that makes drag and drop burning possible. This means that the disc must be reformatted using HotBurn before you can drag and drop information to and from the disc.

Do you want to erase all of the information or just single files from a disc, while keeping the format that makes drag and drop burning possible?
Manually erase the files from the disc - If you right-click the files or folders on the disc and select Delete, all of the information selected will be erased. Because the format is not erased, you will still be able to drag and drop information to and from the disc.
