This can sometimes occur if the eject mechanism needs to be reset. Please refer to the information below.

1. Ensure your computer is off.
   
   
2. Disconnect the Iomega® CD-RW Predator™ drive's power cord.
   
   Predator 4x4x6 USB or 8x4x32 FireWire® drive
   
   
   Press the switch on the bottom of the drive to reset the eject mechanism. Please refer to the illustration below.
   
   
   
   Try closing the cover to see if it stays closed.
   
   
   Predator 24x10x40 USB 2.0 drive
   
   
   Insert a straightened paper clip into the manual eject hole and press gently to reset the eject mechanism. Please refer to the illustration below.
   
   
   
   Try closing the cover to see if it stays closed.
   
   
3. If the cover stays closed, the eject mechanism should now be working properly.
