The steps to format your Iomega® Mini USB drive are dependant upon whether you are using a Macintosh® or a Windows® PC. The steps may also vary dependant upon the version of the operating system you are using.
Warning : Formatting the Iomega Mini USB drive will erase all data on the drive.
Windows 98/SE/Me/2000/XP
- Double-click the My Computer icon.
- Right-click the drive letter of the Iomega Mini USB drive and choose Format.
- Select the option to do a Full format.
- Click Start.
- Click Close once the format process completes.
Mac® OS 8.6 - 9.2
- Highlight the disk icon that mounts for the Iomega Mini drive.
- Click Special and choose Erase.
- Select the format type (i.e. Mac OS Standard, Mac OS Extended, MS-DOS) and click Erase.
Note: If you cannot see any format type except DOS or MS-DOS, disable File Sharing in the Extensions Manager using the following steps:
- Click the Apple icon, select the Control Panel and then Extensions Manager.
- Uncheck File Sharing.
- Restart the computer.
Mac OS X
- Click GO from the menu bar along the top and choose Applications.
- Double-click the Utilities folder.
- Double-click the Disk Utility.
- Select the Mini Drive on the left.
- Click the Erase tab on the right.
- Select the format type (i.e. Mac OS Standard, Mac OS Extended, MS-DOS) and click Erase.
