What should I do if my computer or CD burning software freezes, stops responding, appears to stop burning or won't burn the disc?

If your computer or CD burning software freezes, stops responding, appears to stop burning or won't burn the disc, there are several common conditions that could be causing this problem (such as low system resources, poor quality/defective CD media, problems with the source data you are trying to burn to the destination disc, etc.).
