What should I do if my internal Iomega® CD-RW (ZipCD™) drive is not receiving power?

Please check the following if the internal Iomega® CD-RW (ZipCD™) drive is not receiving power:

    Warning: Unplug power to the computer before checking any of the internal power connections. Plug the computer back in when you are finished checking the items below.

  • Ensure that the internal computer power supply is connected to the back of the CD-RW drive. (Even if you remember connecting the internal power supply, check it again to ensure that it did not come loose during installation.)

  • Check the power connections to ensure that they are secure.

  • If the computer does not have a spare internal power supply, use a power Y-cable to supply power to the CD-RW drive (available from computer retailer's).

  • Try plugging the computer into a different power outlet.
