The Iomega® HotBurn® or HotBurn® Pro System Test helps you determine how fast digital audio can be recorded from your CD-ROM drive (when used as the source drive) to your CD-RW drive (when used as the destination drive). You will need to perform this test before you can burn CDs using the CD Copy function in HotBurn
Please use the following steps to run the System Test.
Note: Please have the original HotBurn software CD or the software CD you created when you first ran the downloaded version of HotBurn ready for the following steps.
- Open the Iomega HotBurn software.
- If the System Test has not been run before, the System Test screen will automatically appear and you will then need to click the Test button, otherwise click the HotBurn options button and select Run System Test.
- Click Select, located in the layout window, and then choose your CD-ROM drive from the list that appears.
Note: Your CD-RW drive will appear in the drive list even though it is not a CD-ROM only drive. This happens because the System Test can test the digital audio extraction rate of most CD drives, including CD-RW drives. If you have more than one CD-ROM drive, Iomega HotBurn can only test one drive at a time.
- Click OK.
- Click the Test button. The system test will now ask you for the original Iomega HotBurn software CD. Clean the software CD if needed to ensure that an acurate digital audio extraction rate is found while using the CD.
Note: A disk other than the Iomega HotBurn software CD can be used for the System Test, but the System Test time may dramatically increase.
- Once the System Test is done, make a note of the extraction rate information listed and then click the Complete button.
