Please use the following steps to format your CD-RW, DVD+RW, DVD-RW or DVD-RAM disc using Iomega® HotBurn® or HotBurn Pro software.

Note: You can only format CD-RW, DVD+RW or DVD-RW discs. CD-R, DVD+R and DVD-R disc formatting is not supported.

1. Insert a blank disc into your drive to open the HotBurn Format window.
   
   Windows users: If the format window does not appear; open My Computer, right-click the drive icon where the disc is located and select Format.
   
   
2. In the open text box, type a name for your disc.
   
   Note: It may take up to 90 minutes to format your disc, depending on the speed of the burner you are using. A DVD disc will take longer to format than a CD disc. You cannot abort the format process once it begins.
   
   
3. Click Start.
   
   
4. Click Yes to begin formatting your disc. The HotBurn Format progress window will now appear.
   
   
5. Once HotBurn is finished formatting your disc, click OK.
   
   Note: If the format fails or if you experience problems formatting the disc, it may be caused by the quality of the disc you are using. Iomega recommends that you use high quality media when burning discs. Now that your disc is formatted, you can drag and drop information directly to your disc. Once the disc is full, you can use it just like a Zip® disk or any other removable media disk and delete single files to free up space. The files you delete will be removed permanently and cannot be recovered.
