HotBurn Pro users: This document contains information on how to use the basic options of HotBurn Pro. For information on how to use the HotBurn Pro Advanced options, please go to http://www.iomega.com/support/manuals/hotburnpro/main.html

  1. Place a blank disc into your CD or DVD rewriteable drive. The HotBurn software should Autolaunch if not already open.

Note: If the HotBurn software does not Autolaunch; click Start, Programs, Iomega HotBurn and Iomega HotBurn.

  2. Click the Data CD button.

Note: You can add pictures, text documents, etc. from your computer, a CD disc or a removable device to the HotBurn layout window.

  3. Click the Explore button to navigate to the location where the data files are stored.

Hint: If you select a group of files and you want to keep the files in the original order, select the first file listed and then drag them into the CD layout window.

  4. Click the data files you want to add to your CD and click the Add button.

  5. Continue adding data files to the CD layout window until all the files you want are present or until the disc is full.

Note: Click the Settings button to view the HotBurn CD creation settings. Iomega recommends that you select the 'Simulate First?' option if you are experiencing CD creation errors.

  6. If you want to name the disc, click the disc name field at the top of the CD creation window and type a name. If you want to change the name of a file, double-click the data file and type the new name.

  7. Click the Create CD button.

  8. Once the CD writing session is done, click the Complete button.

Important: If you create a CD label now, the information from the CD will automatically be exported into the CD Label Designer program. If you create a CD label later, the information cannot be exported and it will need to be typed in manually. Approximately twenty-three lines of information will show on the label. If you are transferring more files than that, you may want to place the files in folders.

You have now created your own custom data CD or DVD disc using HotBurn. Remember that you must use a multi-read compatible drive to read the disc (try using your CD or DVD rewriteable drive if you experience problems).

If you would like to save this data project to create additional CDs or DVDs in the future, click the HotBurn options button and click Save Project. Select a name for your data project and click Save.
