Zip, *Jaz, Peerless drives and HipZip Digital Audio Players are supported natively by Mac® OS X. Iomega® DVD drives

Iomega DVD drives are supported natively by Mac OS X and do not require additional software to mount. The drive will be seen as a regular CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive until burning software is installed.

Although the box for your Iomega DVD drive may not have shown Macintosh® support, you can use your drive as a DVD burner on a Macintosh computer if supported burning software is used. Iomega offers a solution for Iomega DVD drive customers who are using Mac OS 9.2.x or Mac OS 10.2 or newer (not supported in Mac OS 10.1.x). For more information, please go to http://www.iomega.com/software/discribe.html

Note: Most Iomega DVD drives work with Discribe. For more information about supported drives, please visit the supported drive list at http://www.charismac.com/Support/Discribe/discribedevice.html

Iomega CD-RW (ZipCD 650) drives are supported natively by Mac OS X and do not require additional software to mount. The drive will be seen as a regular CD-ROM drive until CD burning software is installed.

The versions of Iomega HotBurn® and Adaptec® Toast™ that shipped with the Iomega CD-RW (ZipCD 650) drives will not work with Mac OS X. There are a few options you may choose when using your drive with Mac OS X:

    • Iomega now offers a solution for Iomega CD-RW (ZipCD 650) drive customers who are using Mac OS 9.2.x or Mac OS 10.2 or newer (not supported in Mac OS 10.1.x). For more information, please go to http://www.iomega.com/software/discribe.html

    • Use the CD burning software included with the operating system. For information about CD burning software included with the Mac OS X operating system (such as iTunes), please search the Apple support Web site at http://www.info.apple.com/ for additional information.

    • Use third-party CD burning software.

Important: Iomega recommends that you download the latest Disk Recording update (version 1.3.5 or higher) using the Software Update option located in System Preferences.

Note: Most Iomega CD-RW and ZipCD 650 drives work with Discribe. For more information about supported drives, please visit the supported drive list at http://www.charismac.com/Support/Discribe/discribedevice.html
