When a problem is encountered during the install or uninstall process, the program may fail and prevent you from completely installing or uninstalling the software. Please use the following steps to help resolve this issue.
STEP ONE - Remove all of the temp files from your computer
- Double-click the My Computer icon.
- Double-click the icon for your hard drive.
- Double-click the Windows folder.
- Double-click the Temp folder.
- Press Ctrl-A to select all of the files in the Temp folder.
- Press the Delete key.
Note: Windows® may not allow you to deleted all of the files located in the Temp folder. Delete all of the files that you can.
- Right-click the Recycle Bin on your desktop and select Empty Recycle Bin.
Warning: This will permanently delete the contents of the Recycle Bin from your computer.
- Restart your computer and continue with the next step.
STEP TWO - Uninstall the Easy CD Creator software
- Insert the software CD that contains the Easy CD Creator software into your CD-ROM drive.
- Click Start and then Run.
- Click the Browse button.
- From the Look in drop-down box, select the CD-ROM drive where the install CD is located.
- Double-click the Adaptec folder.
- Double-click the Ecdc folder.
- Double-click the Uninst folder.
- Double-click the Setup.exe icon. This will run the Easy CD Creator uninstall program.
Important: When you double-click the Setup.exe icon, this may cause the program to install instead. If this occurs, follow the on-screen prompts to install the software (you will no longer need to use STEP THREE below). If you are trying to uninstall the software, follow the on-screen prompts to install the software and then repeat the steps above (all of STEP TWO) to uninstall the software.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to uninstall the software.
If you want to reinstall the Easy CD Creator software, leave the install CD in your CD-ROM drive and continue with the next step.
If you do not want to reinstall the Easy CD Creator software, remove the install CD from your CD-ROM drive. The Easy CD Creator software should now be completely removed from your computer.
STEP THREE - Install the Easy CD Creator software
- Click Start and then Run.
- Click the Browse button.
- From the Look in drop-down box, select the CD-ROM drive where the install CD is located.
- Double-click the Adaptec folder.
- Double-click the Ecdc folder.
- Double-click the Setup.exe icon. This will run the Easy CD Creator install program.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to install the software.
You should now be able to use your Easy CD Creator software.
