What should I do if Easy CD Creator™ will not reinstall after I uninstall the software?

After you uninstall the Adaptec® (Roxio™) Easy CD Creator™ software, you may not be able to reinstall the software. This usually occurs when a problem is encountered during the uninstall process, which causes the uninstall program to fail. Please use the following steps to help resolve this issue.

STEP ONE - Remove all of the temp files from your computer

  1. Double-click the My Computer icon.

  2. Double-click the icon for your hard drive.

  3. Double-click the Windows folder.

  4. Double-click the Temp folder.

  5. Press Ctrl-A to select all of the files in the Temp folder.

  6. Press the Delete key.

    Note: Windows® may not allow you to deleted all of the files located in the Temp folder. Delete all of the files that you can.

  7. Right-click the Recycle Bin on your desktop and select Empty Recycle Bin.

    Warning: This will permanently delete the contents of the Recycle Bin from your computer.

  8. Restart your computer and continue with the next step.

STEP TWO - Uninstall the Easy CD Creator software

  1. Insert the software CD, that contains the Easy CD Creator software, into your CD-ROM drive.

  2. Click Start and then Run.

  3. Click the Browse button.

  4. From the Look in drop-down box, select the CD-ROM drive where the install CD is located.

  5. Double-click the Adaptec folder.

  6. Double-click the Ecdc folder.

  7. Double-click the Uninst folder.

  8. Double-click the Setup.exe icon. This will run the Easy CD Creator uninstall program.

  9. Once the uninstall is complete, leave the install CD in your CD-ROM drive and continue with the next step.

STEP THREE - Install the Easy CD Creator software

  1. Click Start and then Run.

  2. Click the Browse button.

  3. From the Look in drop-down box, select the CD-ROM drive where the install CD is located.

  4. Double-click the Adaptec folder.

  5. Double-click the Ecdc folder.

  6. Double-click the Setup.exe icon. This will run the Easy CD Creator install program.

  • If the Easy CD Creator software installs correctly, your problem is resolved. You can now use your Easy CD Creator software.
