  • Note: Macintosh® versions of QuikSync cannot back up to CD-RW drives.

STEP ONE - Prepare the CD disc for the backup

Note: You will need a blank CD-R or CD-RW disc for backup.

  1. Insert the blank CD into your CD-RW drive.

  2. If the Adaptec software does not come up automatically, use the following steps:

    1. Click the Start button, select Programs, Iomega CD-RW (ZipCD) and then Create CD.

    2. Click the Data button.

    3. Click the DirectCD button.

    4. Click the Next button.

    5. Select the CD-RW drive you wish to use for the backup. DirectCD will now format the blank CD you have in your drive.

    6. Type the name for the CD and click the Finish button to complete the format.

    7. Click the OK button.

  2. Click the General tab.

    1. Click the On radial button.

    2. Select the Source drive.

      1. Click the Add/Remove button.

      2. Select the folder(s) or file(s) you wish to backup.

      3. Click the Add button.

      4. When you have selected all of the folder(s) or file(s) you wish to back up, click the OK button.
    3. Select the CD-RW drive as the destination drive.

  3. Click the Scheduling tab.

    1. Select one of the three scheduling options.

      • Copy my files everytime I save to my source folder(s)

      • Check source folder(s) for changes every: (By time)

      • Check source folder(s) for changes every: (by day-of-the-week)

  4. Click the OK button
