Before you install the Toast™ Deluxe patch 4.0.2 it is best to use the following steps to avoid installation problems.

STEP ONE - Delete Toast 4.0 files

1. Double-click the Macintosh® HD.
   
   
2. Drag the Adaptec Toast 4.0 folder to the Trash.
   
   Note: Before moving the Adaptec Toast 4.0 folder to the Trash, please save any items you may have added to your Toast folder.
   
   

STEP TWO - Delete Toast 4.0 related files from the System Folder

1. Within the Macintosh HD, double-click the Systems Folder.
   
   
2. Click and drag the following Toast 4.0 files to the Trash:
   
   Note: You do not need to delete Adaptec Toast Preferences or DirectCD™ from the Systems Folder.
   
   
   • Toast CD Reader
     
     
   • Toast USB Alpha Bridge
     
     
   • Toast USB Freecom Bridge
     
     
   • Toast USB HPMesa Bridge
     
     
   • Toast USB Iomega Bridge
     
     
   • Toast USB LaCie Bridge
     
     
   • Toast USB OnSpec v2 Bridge
     
     
   • Toast USB QPS Bridge
     
     
   • Toast USB Shuttle Bridge
     
     
   • Toast USB Shuttle-in Bridge
     
     
   • Toast USB Sony Eu Bridge
     
     
   • Toast USB Support
     
     
3. Close the Systems Folder window.
   
   

STEP THREE - Reinstall the Adaptec Toast 4.0

1. Insert the Toast 4.0 install CD into your CD-ROM drive.
   
   
2. Click the language of your choice.
   
   
3. Click the Install icon.
   
   
4. Follow all the install prompts as they appear on your screen.
   
   
5. Allow your computer to restart.
   
   

STEP FOUR - Install Adaptec Toast 4.0.2

1. Double-click the Adaptec Toast 4.0.2 install icon.
   
   
2. Follow all the install prompts as they appear on your screen.
   
   
3. Allow your computer to restart.
