You can copy information from one CD and create another CD, even if your Iomega® CD-RW (ZipCD 650) drive is the only CD-ROM drive on your system. You can make an image of the CD you want to copy, store it on your hard drive and burn it to a another CD. Please use the following steps to create an image of the CD you want to copy.
Select the software you are using:

HotBurn® (PC and Macintosh®)

- Place the CD you want to copy into your CD-RW drive.
- Open the HotBurn software.
- Click the CD Copy button.
- For the Source: click Select, CD Drive, choose your CD-RW drive from the drive list and then click the OK button.
- For the Destination: click Select and then choose Image.
- Type a name for the image in the space provided and then click Save.
- Click the Create CD button.
- Once the CD writing session is done, click the Complete button.
- Open your CD-RW drive and remove the CD you used to create the image.
- Place a blank CD into your CD-RW drive.
- For the Source: click Select, Image and then choose the image you just created.
- For the Destination: click Select, CD-R/RW Drive, choose your CD-RW drive from the drive list and then click the OK button.
- Click the Create CD button.
- Once the CD writing session is done, click the Complete button.
Easy CD Creator
Note: The steps below provide information on how to create a CD or disc image using Easy CD Creator version 4.02c, 4.02d or 3.5c. To verify what version of Easy CD Creator you have; open the Easy CD Creator application, click Help and About Easy CD Creator to view the version number.
Adaptec Easy CD Creator version 4.02c or 4.02d
- Click Start, Programs, Iomega CD-RW (or Iomega ZipCD), Features and Easy CD Creator.
- Click File, New CD Layout and choose the type of CD you want to create. You may create a Data CD, Audio CD, Mixed-Mode CD, CD Extra or Bootable CD.
- From the Explorer window, the top portion of the Easy CD Creator window, browse to the location of your files and click a data and/or audio file you want to add to your CD.
- Drag the data and/or audio file into the Layout window, which is the bottom portion of the Easy CD Creator window.
- Continue to click and drag data and/or audio files into the Layout window until all of the files you want on your CD are present or no more disc space is available.
Note: At the bottom of the Easy CD Creator window you can find information about the CD image you are creating. This includes information about the amount of free space, the number of files and/or folders selected, type of CD image you are creating, etc.
- Click File and Create CD Image.
- Select a location on your hard drive where you want to save the CD image.
Note: Ensure that enough space is located on your hard drive to store the CD image. Across the bottom of the Easy CD Creator window, you can find information about the combined size of all data and/or audio files selected. Please use this as a guide to determine the hard drive space you will need.
- Name the CD image file and click Save.
- When the image creation process is complete, click OK.
- Place a blank CD into your CD-RW drive.
- Click File and Create CD from CD Image.
- Click the CD image file you want to make into a CD.
- Click Open.
- Choose the desired settings from the CD Creation Setup window.
Note: You can view more CD creation options by clicking the Advanced button. If you would like to keep your settings as the default settings, click Set as Default at the bottom of the CD Creation Setup window.
- Click OK.
- When the CD creation process is complete, click OK.
Ensure that you delete the image file to free up hard drive space on your computer.
Adaptec Easy CD Creator version 3.5c
- Click Start, Programs, Iomega CD-RW (or Iomega ZipCD) and Easy CD Creator.
- Click the Cancel button to remove the Wizard window.
- Click File and New CD Layout.
- Click the Data CD Layout or Audio CD Layout tab (depending upon the kind of CD you want to create).
- From the Explorer window, the top portion of the Easy CD Creator window, click the data and/or audio files you want to add to your CD.
- Drag the data and/or audio files into the Layout window, which is the bottom portion of the Easy CD Creator window.
- Continue to click and drag data and/or audio files into the Layout window until all of the files you want on your CD are present or no more disc space is available.
Note: At the bottom of the Easy CD Creator window you can find information about the CD image you are creating. This includes information about the amount of free space, the number of files and/or folders selected, type of disc image you are creating, etc.
- Click File and Create Disc Image.
- Select a location on your hard drive where you want to save the disc image.
Note: Ensure that enough space is located on your hard drive to store the disc image. Across the bottom of the Data CD Layout tab, you can find information about the combined size of all data files selected. On the Audio CD Layout tab, the file size is listed next to each audio file selected. Please use this as a guide to determine the hard drive space you will need.
- Name the disc image file and click Save.
- When the image creation process is complete, click OK.
- Place a blank CD into your CD-RW drive.
- Click File and Create CD from Disc Image.
- Click the disc image file you want to make into a CD.
- Click Open.
- Choose the desired settings from the CD Creation Setup window.
Note: You can view more CD creation options by clicking the Advanced tab.
- Click OK.
- When the CD creation process is complete, click OK.
Ensure that you delete the image file to free up hard drive space on your computer.
