My Ditto® drive received an invalid command

If your Ditto® drive is having a problem with invalid commands it is likely that you have an older version of the Iomega® Backup software. Iomega recommends you upgrade to the latest version of the Iomega Ditto Backup software.


STEP ONE - Download the Iomega Backup software
  1. The current version of drivers for your Ditto drive may be downloaded from http://www.iomega.com/software
  2. Click OK to begin the software download.


STEP TWO - Close all open applications

    Please close all open applications, you will be required to shutdown your computer after installing your software.

      Warning: Do not close Explorer or Systray. If Explorer is closed, you will be prompted to restart your computer.

    1. Hold down the Ctrl and Alt keys then press the delete key to open the Close Program dialog box.

    2. Click the application you want to close.

    3. Click the End Task button.

    4. Repeat steps B and C to close all open applications except Explorer and Systray.


STEP THREE - Install the Iomega Ditto Backup software
  1. Locate and double-click the Iomega Ditto Backup software icon to begin the installation process.



  2. Follow all installation prompts as they appear on your screen.

  3. Restart your computer when prompted for changes to take effect.

    Is the problem fixed?
    Y If your Ditto drive is no longer receiving invalid commands you are now ready to use your Ditto drive.
