How do I backup network drives to my Zip® or Jaz® drive using the Iomega® Quik Sync 2 software?

The Iomega® Quik Sync 2 software allows you to automatically backup files, including network files, to your Zip® or Jaz® drive. Every time you save a selected file to your hard drive or to a network drive, the Iomega Quik Sync 2 software automatically makes a copy of that file to an Iomega Zip or Jaz disk.

Iomega recommends that you download the QuikSync™ 3 software at Download iconhttp://www.iomega.com/software/

    Note: The Iomega Quik Sync 2 software does not support the Iomega CD-RW or ZipCD™ drives on a Macintosh®.

All you have to do is select the folders or files you want the Iomega Quik Sync 2 software to automatically backup to your Iomega drive.

Use the following steps to backup local and network drives using Iomega Quik Sync 2:


STEP ONE - Download and install the Iomega Quik Sync 2 software
  1. Download the Iomega Quik Sync 2 software from the Iomega Software Download site using the links above.

  2. Double-click the Iomega Quik Sync 2 downloaded file to begin installation.

  3. Follow all screen prompts to complete installation.

  4. Continue with the next step to configure Iomega Quik Sync 2 when prompted.


STEP TWO - Configure the Iomega Quik Sync 2 software

You may change or modify, at any time, the files and folders that Iomega Quik Sync 2 will backup. Use the following steps to reconfigure Iomega Quik Sync 2:

  1. Double-click the Iomega Quik Sync 2 software icon

    (Located in the lower right corner of your computer screen on the system tray or:)

    1. Click Start.

    2. Select Programs.

    3. Choose Iomega Quik Sync 2 and click Iomega Quik Sync 2 from the menu.

  2. Select the General tab.

  3. Click the Add/Remove button to select the files or folders.

  4. Select the files or folders from your local or networks drives and click the Add button.

  5. When you are finished selecting the files or folders you wish to backup, click the OK button.

  6. Select the Advanced tab.

    1. Access will put the Iomega Quik Sync 2 icon on the system tray in the lower right hand portion of your desktop.

    2. Revisions allows you to save a specified number of revisions to your Iomega Quik Sync 2 backup disk.

    3. File Type Filters will allow you to exclude specific file types, such as temp files.

    4. Notifications and Warnings will pop up reminders if there is no disk in your Iomega drive or the disk is getting full.

  7. Click the Scheduling tab to set backup times.

    1. Scheduling sets the time interval for Iomega Quik Sync 2 to back up files. Select the times that best suit your backup needs.

    2. Copy Now will copy all selected files one time when you click OK.

    3. Click the OK button when you are finished configuring Iomega Quik Sync 2.

    Iomega Quik Sync 2 will now backup all of your selected files and folders automatically and transparently.
