How do I change the drive letter for my Iomega® drive in Windows® 98/95/Me using the IomegaWare™ software?

You can change the drive letter for your Iomega® drive by using the drive letter manager in the IomegaWare™ software. Iomega recommends that you use the latest version of IomegaWare software. Download the current version of IomegaWare from http://www.iomega.com/software/

STEP ONE - Identify the version of IomegaWare software you have

  1. Click Start.

  2. Select Programs.

  3. Select Iomega.


  4. If you have the option IomegaWare, you have version 2.2 or lower.

    If there is no IomegaWare option, you have version 2.5 or higher.

STEP TWO - Use IomegaWare to change your Iomega drive letter

Click the link below for the version of IomegaWare you have.




For IomegaWare 2.5 or higher

  1. Double-click the My Computer icon.


  2. Right-click the Iomega drive icon.


  3. Select Properties.

  5. Click the Drive Letter Manager tab.

  7. Select the Iomega drive.


  8. Select the drive letter you wish to use from the drop down menu.


  9. Note: Do not choose a drive letter that is in use.

  10. Click the OK button.


  11. Restart your computer for changes to take effect.


  12. Proceed to STEP THREE





For IomegaWare 2.2 or lower

  1. Click Start, select Programs and click IomegaWare.


  2. Select the Get Help tab.


  3. Click Drive Letter Manager.

  5. Select the Iomega drive.


  6. Select the drive letter you wish to use from the drop-down menu.


  7. Click the OK button.

    Note: Do not choose a drive letter that is in use.


  8. Restart your computer for changes to take effect.

  9. Continue with the next step.



STEP THREE - Verify your drive letter has changed

  1. Click the My Computer icon.

  2. Locate your Iomega drive icon.

  3. Verify the drive letter is the one you selected.
