Once you install an Iomega® Zip® or Jaz® drive on your computer you may discover the drive letter assignments for your CD-ROM drive or removable drive, may have changed. Use this document to correct drive letter assignments for your removable drives.
If you are using an older version of the Iomega installation software we recommend you upgrade to the latest version of the IomegaWare software available on our software download page at
http://www.iomega.com/software/
STEP ONE - Determine which version of the IomegaWare software is installed on your computer.
Note: This method will not work for the older versions of the Iomega Tools software.
- Double-click the My Computer icon.
- Double-click the C drive icon.
- Double-click Program Files.
- Scroll down and locate the Iomega folder and double-click the folder icon.
- Double-click the Common folder icon to open.
- Scroll down and highlight the version.dll file.

- Right-click the version.dll file and choose the Properties tab.

- The version of the IomegaWare software is listed at the top of the window.
Please continue with the next step if you do not have the latest version of the IomegaWare software.
STEP TWO - Upgrade to the latest version of the IomegaWare software
The latest version of the IomegaWare software is listed on the software download page and may be downloaded from our Web site at
http://www.iomega.com/software/
STEP THREE - Change the drive letter assignments on your removable drive
Note: Once you complete the following steps you will be prompted to restart your computer for changes to take effect, please save and close any open applications now.
- Click Start.
- Select Programs.
- Click IomegaWare.
- Within the IomegaWare window, click the Get Help tab.
- Click Drive Letter Manager.
Note: Within the Iomega Drive Letter Manager window should see the current drive letter assignments for all your removable drives.
- Within the Drive Letter Manager window, click the down arrow directly below the drive of your choice.
- Within the pull-down list, click the desired drive letter.
- Click OK.
- Click Yes to restart your computer and for changes to take effect.
- Verify the letter assignment for your removable drive in the Drive Letter Manager window after restarting your computer. If the correct drive letter appears below the appropriate drive, the problem is resolved.
