Iomega Announces High-Capacity Mobile Storage For Windows® and Mac® OS X Users
Iomega Dual-Interface Portable Hard Drives are the Travel Companions For Today's Mobile Workforce

SAN DIEGO, August 21, 2006 - Iomega Corporation (NYSE: IOM), a global leader in data storage and protection, today announced the worldwide availability of two high-capacity portable hard drives that deliver the proven benefits of host-powered operation and Drop Shock™ technology: the Iomega® Portable Hard Drive 120GB Hi-Speed USB 2.0/FireWire® drive, and the Iomega Portable Hard Drive 80GB Hi-Speed USB 2.0/FireWire drive.

Both drives feature a sleek metallic industrial design that's fashionably thin at just 0.5 inches (12.7 mm), weighs less than 6 ounces, and fits easily into a shirt pocket. Both come with industry-leading EMC® Retrospect™ Express backup and disaster recovery software. For improved data security, both drives use Iomega's durable Drop Shock technology to help protect the drive and data from damage due to unexpected shocks. In addition, for the ultimate in portability, both drives also feature USB-powered operation, which eliminates the need to carry a separate external power supply. Just plug the Iomega Portable Hard Drive into the USB or FireWire port and use it like any other external drive.

"The key to success in mobile computing is to travel light and protect the data you need to use when you're on the go," said Ashley Domis, global product manager for HDD solutions, Iomega Corporation. "Iomega's new high-capacity dual interface Portable Hard Drive is fast, rugged, fits in a shirt pocket or laptop bag, delivers plenty of capacity for files, photos and music, and backs up important files in the background, automatically, with Retrospect Express, so your backup is always ready even if you aren't."

EMC Retrospect® Express software delivers automated, reliable, cost-effective protection for Windows® and Mac® users. Its award-winning design makes it easy to set up and manage highly efficient backups on any PC, greatly simplifying disaster recovery. Users can back up open files, verify backup integrity during the backup, have scheduled backups proceed even without logging in, and recover individual files or a complete system to any point in time.

The new Iomega dual interface Portable Hard Drive (both capacities) utilizes a 2.5-inch hard drive that delivers fast 5400 RPM performance. Each drive comes complete with FireWire 400 (1394a) and USB 2.0 cables, a quick start guide and the Iomega Solutions CD.

Operating System Compatibility
Iomega's new drives are compatible with Windows 2000 Professional/XP Home/XP Professional and with Mac OS X 10.1 or higher.
