Iomega Announces New Additions to its Professional Storage Solutions for Small and Medium-Sized Businesses
***
New Products Include Network Attached Storage Appliance with Removable REV Technology Built In

SAN DIEGO, March 29, 2005 - Iomega Corporation (NYSE: IOM), a global leader in data storage, today announced three new professional storage products: the Iomega® NAS 200d w REV™, the Iomega NAS 300r server, and the internal Iomega REV 35GB* SATA Drive. Demonstrating Iomega’s commitment to the needs of small and medium-sized businesses, these new products not only deliver on important file-sharing and storage requirements, but also create a new product category: a single network attached storage (NAS) appliance with removable REV storage built in.

Iomega NAS 200d Server With REV Backup
The 200d Series 320GB Drive with Iomega REV storage is the first NAS server anywhere to offer the complete package: full-featured NAS services and high-performance REV 35GB storage backup in a single desktop box. REV drive backup enables administrators to reduce the backup window by up to a factor of eight**, giving them the reliability and performance advantages of a hard drive with the removability of tape. All Iomega 200d storage servers come standard with Computer Associates' eTrust™ Antivirus Software version 7.1, which protects data from virus attacks.

"We kept the features customers loved about the 200d - the small size and quiet operation - and added features that deliver improved value and a better backup and archiving experience," said Wayne Arvidson, director, professional storage services, Iomega Corporation. "The new Iomega NAS 200d models with Microsoft Windows Print Server and Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 database support options can now carry more of the load for regular network servers, and the built-in REV drive is a first in this category."

Iomega REV SATA Drive
Iomega REV products will reach the one-year milestone in April with the new REV 35GB Internal Drive with SATA interface. The new drive gives users the speed and cabling advantages of the Serial ATA, or SATA, interface, so adding a REV drive to new computers for system backups and portable storage is now simpler. Other available REV models feature USB, ATAPI, FireWire, or SCSI computer interfaces.

"Our internal research shows one third of REV customers are using REV as their first backup device, one third are replacing tape units, and one third are replacing other devices like optical drives," said Arvidson. "As our REV system gains popularity, its market is expanding beyond the initial target of tape replacement. A lot of large file users are now turning to REV for their backup and portable storage needs."

The REV drive shines as an alternative to hard drives and tape drives for portable applications. REV disks are much more rugged than portable hard drives and just as fast-a sizzling 25 MB/sec (maximum native transfer rate)-with an estimated 30-year shelf life and 1 million rewrites.

Iomega NAS 300r Series Storage Server
Available in three rack mount models with capacities ranging from 320GB to 500GB, the NAS 300r Series storage server is an economical, safe and secure repository for important files in small to medium-sized businesses, corporate workgroups, and remote offices.

"Business owners and managers generally work with tight budgets but have to manage rapidly growing storage needs, so they want data solutions that keep installation and support costs low," said Arvidson. "For companies with little or no IT support, a rack mount plug-and-play Iomega NAS 300r Series storage server is an ideal solution. It delivers enterprise-quality data protection for as little as $2,000 with an easy installation and no network or application server downtime."

Deploying an Iomega NAS 300r Series storage server is virtually automatic with Iomega's plug-and-play configuration and self-discovery software, requiring no network downtime. Microsoft Windows Storage Server 2003 comes standard with unlimited client access licenses (CALs), so the 300r integrates seamlessly into existing Windows networks. True hot-swappable 7200-rpm drives and Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 database support are standard, as are dual Gigabit Ethernet connection and an Ultra 160 SCSI interface to enable high-speed archival backup. In RAID-1 (mirrored) configuration, a 300r Series server costs only about 1.2 cents per megabyte, providing excellent insurance against accidents, operator errors, virus attacks and hardware breakdown.

An Advanced Client Backup and Disaster Recovery Solution
All three products announced today ship with Iomega Automatic Backup Pro (IAB Pro) software, providing users with a complete client backup solution. IAB Pro software offers the choice of continuous real-time backup or easy configuration of scheduled backups if preferred. Users can back up multiple file revisions, maintain security with password protection and AES file encryption, and make each storage dollar go farther with up to 2.6:1 file compression*** on typical uncompressed office documents.

** The Iomega REV drive is up to eight times faster than DDS-4 tape for backup; REV drive restore times are virtually instant (13 ms access time) thanks to random-access file-retrieval.

*** 2.6:1 data compression assumes the use of “high” compression on Iomega Automatic Backup Pro software with highly compressible files such as typical office spreadsheets and documents. Capacity may vary and is data and software dependent.
