Iomega's 35-Gigabyte REV Drive Lauded as Key Technology Innovation in Storage

SAN DIEGO, October 31, 2005 - Iomega Corporation (NYSE: IOM), a global leader in data storage celebrating 25 years of business in 2005, has been recognized by VARBusiness magazine for outstanding achievement in technology innovation. The Iomega REV™ 35GB* drive was named the winner in the storage category of the VARBusinessTech Innovator awards competition.

VARBusiness magazine, which covers the business of technology integration, honored Iomega at an awards event held earlier this month in San Francisco. The Iomega REV drive was among more than 500 entries submitted in 11 technology categories.

"Innovations like what we've seen from Iomega demonstrate the vibrancy and vitality of the industry," says VARBusiness Editor Lawrence M. Walsh. "They represent breakthroughs that will benefit our solution-provider readers and, in turn, the users of technology."

Iomega and the Iomega REV drive will be recognized in the VARBusiness Dec. 19 "State of Technology" issue, which will include profiles, features and in-depth explanations of the technologies and products.

"Iomega is very honored that VARBusiness has recognized the REV drive as a major innovation in storage," said Ron Gillies, Vice President and General Manager, Americas Business Unit, Iomega Corporation. "The REV drive is a compelling alternative for customers who have traditionally used tape for backup and data protection on their entry level servers as well as high-end desktops. The REV drive's performance, easy-of-use and attractive price make it a good fit for small businesses and the resellers, VARS and system integrators that serve the SMB market."

The REV Drive
The Iomega REV drive offers the removability of tape with the speed and ease of use of a hard drive. The REV drive transfers data up to eight times faster than tape**, and REV 35GB disks are smaller than a deck of playing cards (10 x 77 x 75 mm) and can be rewritten more than a million times (estimated). With a maximum sustained transfer rate of 25 MB/sec, and random access technology, REV users can copy and restore individual files in seconds.

The Iomega® REV 35GB drive is currently shipping in ATAPI, external USB 2.0, FireWire®, SCSI, SATA and a multi-disk autoloader configuration, the REV 1000 Autoloader. Since the REV technology was introduced in 2004, Iomega has sold more than 100,000 REV drives and 625,000 REV disks. For more information on the REV drive, please go to www.iomega.com. Resellers, VARS and system integrators can go to www.iolink.com.
