Iomega Corporation Announces 30-Day Free Trial of Internet Storage
with IomegaŽ iStorage Online
SAN DIEGO,
May 29, 2003 - Iomega Corporation (NYSE: IOM),
a global leader in data storage, is giving Internet
users a free taste of online data security with a new
30-day free trial of Iomega® iStorage Online.
Iomega® iStorage Online is the
fast, flexible new online storage system for Internet
users, providing secure file access from any Internet
connection. Internet users in the U.S. can now receive
a free 30-day trial usage of 50MB of online storage
from Iomega iStorage Online. Regular Iomega iStorage
Online accounts start as low as $2.49 a month for 50MB
of online storage, with two months free for purchasers
of a 12-month annual subscription.
Iomega iStorage Online makes Web-based
storage affordable, scalable and easy to use. Data stored
online in client accounts is completely safe from the
data disasters that can plague a typical workplace—problems
like a computer breakdown, theft, virus attack or accidental
erasure. User data is encrypted for security and stored
in a redundant storage infrastructure with dedicated
security processes and software, telco-grade disk drives,
multiple tape backups, and offsite tape storage. iStorage
Online also includes Whalemail™, which gives users
the freedom to share large email attachments by sending
a link to an iStorage Online file, rather than the file
itself.
“Iomega
iStorage Online has made Internet
storage easy to use, easy to access and now easy
to try with this new free trial offering,” said
Susan Huberman, vice president, corporate marketing,
Iomega Corporation. “With an Iomega iStorage Online
account, your data can be backed up automatically and
accessed from any Internet connection—great for
when you’re on the road. Iomega iStorage Online
is designed to provide anytime, anywhere access and
offsite protection for your key files, making it an
excellent complement to Iomega’s suite of storage
solutions.”
