Iomega Corporation announces new director
SAN DIEGO, July 23, 2002
- David Dunn, Chairman of the Board of Iomega Corporation,
announced today the election of a new director, Neal
J. Martini. Mr. Martini becomes the third new member
of Iomega’s Board to be announced this year.
“Since the Annual Meeting in May,” Mr. Dunn
said, “Iomega has added three new directors who
bring proven performance and strong business experience
to the Board.”
Mr. Martini spent more than 23 years in leadership positions
with the Hewlett-Packard Company. He retired from Hewlett-Packard
in 2001, was most recently Vice President and General
Manager of the LaserJet business unit, where he had
worldwide responsibility for product development, manufacturing,
distribution, marketing and sales for monochrome LaserJet
printers, color LaserJet printers and associated supplies.
The business unit had revenue in excess of $10 billion
and a worldwide market share of approximately 65% in
2001.
Mr. Martini’s previous positions with the Hewlett-Packard
Company included General Manager of the color LaserJet
and suppliers division, based in Boise, Idaho; Manager
of the research and development laboratory for Hewlett-Packard’s
San Diego division; and a variety of leadership positions
in research and development. During his tenure with
Hewlett-Packard, Mr. Martini was responsible for the
management of more than 3,700 employees.
Prior to joining Hewlett-Packard, Mr. Martini held engineering
design positions with Monsanto Chemical Company and
Naval Oceans Systems Center. A resident of Boise, Idaho,
Mr. Martini received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical
Engineering from the University of Detroit, and his
Master’s in Electrical Engineering from the University
of Missouri-Rolla.
Mr. Martini joins two other recently announced members
of the Iomega Board of Directors – Louis Caldera,
Vice Chancellor for University Advancement for the California
State University System; and Stephen N. David, Chief Information
Officer and Business-to-Business Officer of the Procter
& Gamble Company. It is expected that all three new
directors will be included in the panel of directors submitted
to the shareholders at next year’s Annual Meeting.
