ROY, Utah, June 13, 2001 - Iomega Corporation (NYSE: IOM), a global leader in data management solutions, today announced that it is consolidating manufacturing operations for its products at the Company's Penang, Malaysia, manufacturing facility.

Iomega also announced that effective immediately, its Roy, Utah, manufacturing facility will shift from prototyping and low-volume production of Iomega drives and removable disks to prototyping and engineering support. As a result of this shift, the Company announced a workforce reduction of approximately 110 workers at the Roy manufacturing facility.

"Our goal in this challenging economic atmosphere is to consolidate our manufacturing capability to improve efficiency and lower costs," said John Conely, senior vice president operations, Iomega Corporation. "While we recognize the impact on our employees, this move better positions our company for future operations."

Since 1997, the Penang manufacturing facility, which is owned by Iomega, has functioned as Iomega's principal manufacturing center.
