FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Iomega Corporation Announces New CEO Werner Heid

ROY, Utah - June 18, 2001 - Iomega Corporation (NYSE: IOM), a global leader in data management solutions, today introduced Werner T. Heid as Iomega's president and chief executive officer. Heid brings 16 years of experience in the computer peripherals industry and has been a member of Iomega's board of directors since May 2000.

"I have built an excellent working relationship with Werner and I speak for our entire board of directors in saying that Werner has our unequivocal support," said David J. Dunn, chairman of the board of directors at Iomega. "Werner brings a perfect mix of experience as a marketer and a technologist who understands global markets and effective leadership."

Heid was named president of Proxima Corp., a manufacturer of multimedia projectors, in 1998 and quickly returned the company to accelerated growth and sustained profitability. Following Proxima's merger with InFocus Corp., another leading manufacturer of multimedia projectors, he served as executive vice-president of worldwide sales, marketing and service at InFocus Corp. Heid spent the first 12 years of his career in marketing roles with Hewlett-Packard (HP), working internationally with products including InkJet, LaserJet, color copiers and All-in-One. He played a key role growing HP's LaserJet business and market share in Europe and leading the marketing strategy to create HP's OfficeJet Professional and Personal Color Copier business worldwide. His deep technology marketing background is balanced by a master's degree in electrical engineering from Karlsruhe University in Germany.

"My eyes are wide open to the challenges that lay ahead of me, but I am steadfast in my belief that Iomega will recapture its position as the de facto standard for data-management in today's digital revolution," said Heid. "We are creating new applications and technologies that will give people new reasons to use the 42 million Zip® drives out there. At the same time, we're building a new legacy around exciting new products such as PeerlessTM. Iomega is uniquely capable of filling users' demands for rugged, large-scale, unlimited storage."

Heid will continue to serve on Iomega's board of directors.

Heid will conduct a conference call today at 2:30 p.m. MST to discuss his background and qualifications. Media and analysts wishing to participate can do so by dialing 800-252-8295. Note to editors:

The following is a full biography on Werner Heid:

WERNER T. HEID
CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
IOMEGA CORPORATION

Werner Heid joins Iomega with more than 16 years of broad management experience and a proven track record in growing businesses, market shares and profits worldwide. Known for his leadership in promoting and executing change, he has demonstrated the ability to solve major business challenges and return companies to growth and profitability. Heid was named to Iomega's board of directors in May 2000 and became the company's chief executive officer in June 2001.

Heid became president of Proxima Corp., a manufacturer of multimedia digital projectors, in 1998. His tenure coincided with a major turnaround at Proxima, as its market share rose 50 percent and the company returned to growth and profitability. In June 2000, Heid played a key role in negotiating a merger with InFocus Corp. At InFocus he served as executive vice president of sales, marketing and service worldwide, responsible for InFocus' principle business units in Americas, Europe and Asia; its worldwide marketing, product and service strategy; its OEM business unit; and the newly created Home Entertainment business unit.

Prior to his experience at Proxima, Heid spent almost 13 years with Hewlett-Packard (HP). As the European marketing manager for the LaserJet Solutions Group and InkJet Supplies Unit, he helped grow LaserJet into a $1 billion business and increased market share from 35 percent to 53 percent. Based in Germany, he also earned the highest "people management" score in HP's Peripheral Group Europe.

In 1994, Heid moved to the United States to become HP's worldwide marketing manager for the office products division. While there, he successfully established two new hardcopy businesses for HP: copiers and All-in-One (AiO). Within six weeks of its launch, HP's copier business had captured 12 percent market share. AiO, after fighting for category establishment in retail channels, exceeded initial forecasts and generated $200 million in revenues in its first nine months.

Heid's 16 years in computer-related businesses have given him in-depth experience in all business and consumer channels ranging from high-end, value-add system integrators to retail to e-direct channels. His years of marketing and management experience are complemented by a master's degree in electrical engineering from Karlsruhe University in Germany.

Heid has enjoyed living and working in Europe, South America and the U.S. and is fluent in English, German and Spanish.
