FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Iomega Unveils Lifeworks Journal
And File Cabinet Software
New Portable Software Applications
For Today's Zip Drive Users
ROY, Utah,
June 22, 2001 - Iomega Corporation (NYSE:IOM),
a global leader in reliable portable data storage, today
announced two new Iomega® LifeWorksTM portable software
titles, LifeWorks Journal and LifeWorks File Cabinet.
Powered by Iomega's Active Disk technology, these portable
applications run entirely from Zip® disks and leave
no trace on the host computer.
LifeWorks Journal software is today's
digital diary, allowing users to record daily events
on a password-protected Zip disk. Digital images and
voice messages can be inserted in the text, and a search
engine easily locates specific entries. Users can change
the appearance of the journal's pages and chart happiness
and health levels over time with a mood tracker.
LifeWorks File Cabinet software makes
it easy to scan paper documents and organize electronic
files of any type. Users simply drag files into drawers
and folders of their digital file cabinet. Related documents
can be 'stapled' together, moved as a group and printed
with a single click. The scanning feature reduces bills
and other paper clutter to a single disk.
"By automatically launching
from a Zip disk, Active Disk enabled software can be
carried to an office or a friend's house where the owner
normally wouldn't have access to his or her personal
software," said Werner Heid, president and CEO,
Iomega Corporation. "Truly portable software applications
are a unique benefit of the Zip platform and add value
to a product that is already trusted by millions of
people for durable and reliable data storage."
The new titles join LifeWorks Photo
Album software and Active Disk enabled shareware titles.
The shareware titles are available for free download
at http://www.iomega.com/clubiomega/activedisk.html.
Iomega LifeWorks Journal and LifeWorks File Cabinet
software titles are expected to be available in July
2001 for $29.95 (U.S.) per title. For more information,
