FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Iomega Disks to Reach Consumers With Independent Pictures "Prime Gig" Movie Trailer and Sweepstakes

ROY, Utah, November 1, 2000 - Iomega Corporation (NYSE: IOM), a global leader in data management solutions, today announced an innovative agreement with Independent Pictures to feature a sweepstakes and pre-loaded movie trailer on 150,000 specially marked Iomega Jaz(r) disks. In mid-November, Jaz disk users worldwide will view the trailer of Independent Pictures' "The Prime Gig," starring Vince Vaughn, Julia Ormond, and Ed Harris, without having to access the Internet, wait through a long download, or endure the choppy playback common with online screening.

"The tech-savvy consumers who use Iomega Jaz disks are an ideal audience for value-added content like the 'The Prime Gig' trailer," said Bruce Albertson, president and chief executive officer, Iomega Corporation. "Not only are Jaz users the right demographic to be interested in the movie, but they are comfortable with e-mail, instant message services, and online tools that can quickly spread the word about the film. This promotion demonstrates Iomega's unique opportunity to offer value-added content to a highly targeted group of consumers."

Independent Pictures will refer to Iomega.com and the "Find Your Own Prime Gig" sweepstakes in marketing material for the movie. In addition, each of the specially marked disks will contain a link to the sweepstakes. Independent Pictures will send five grand prize winners and their guests to "The Prime Gig" premiere, including airfare to New York on Northwest Airlines, a weekend at the "W" Hotel New York - Union Square, and VIP passes to the event. Other sweepstakes prizes will include one of five Iomega FotoShowTM Digital Image Centers, one of 15 new Iomega HipZipTM digital audio players, one of 25 blank Jaz( disks, and one of 35 videocassette copies of "The Prime Gig." To enter the contest, review rules, or learn more about the promotion, visit http://www.iomega.com/promos/sweepstakes.html.

"This is an exciting partnership that plants the Independent Pictures flag in a new media platform," said Cary Woods, chairman of Independent Pictures and producer of the original "Scream," "KIDS," and "So I Married An Axe Murderer," among others. "We see Iomega as a bridge to millions of tech-savvy moviegoers who respond well to innovative promotions. Someday viewing trailers on high-capacity blank disks may be as routine as sending or receiving e-mail."

As an electronic medium, content pre-loaded on Iomega disks can contain full-motion video, audio and Internet links. With the exception of the pre-loaded trailer, the specially marked Jaz( disks are no different than normal 2 GB Jaz disks. Large files like movie trailers require only a small portion of the storage space on a 2 GB Jaz disk and can be easily deleted. Jaz 2GB drives and disks offer high-capacity removable storage at speeds surpassing many existing hard drives, providing high performance backup with easy recovery. Jaz drives offer multiple connectivity options, including USB, FireWire, and SCSI, and are an indispensable tool to manage and protect audio/video, graphic design, CAD/CAM, and financial data.

In the United States, the specially-marked disks will be available at retail stores including CompUSA, Office Depot, Staples, Fry's Electronics, and Micro Center Computer Department Stores. For more information about Iomega Jaz( products, visit http://www.iomega.com/jaz/index.html.
