FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Iomega Ships Predator External CD-RW Drive

ROY, Utah, December 20, 2000 - Iomega Corporation (NYSE: IOM), a global leader in data management solutions, today announced that the exciting new Iomega PredatorTM CD-RW drive is now shipping in the U.S.

The Iomega PredatorTM CD-RW drive, which debuted as a crowd favorite at Comdex last month in Las Vegas, is now shipping for availability on select U.S. retail shelves in early January 2001, for $269.95 (U.S. estimated retail price). The external CD-RW drive is also available at iomegadirect.com, and will begin shipping in Asia, Europe and Latin America in February 2001.

The versatile new PredatorTM 8X4X32X CD-RW drive supports popular interfaces by using interchangeable adapters. It is currently shipping with a USB 1.1 adapter offering 4X4X6X performance, the maximum re-write and read speeds for the USB 1.1 interface. A FireWire®/IEEE 1394 adapter model will also be available in the first quarter of 2001 for $329.95 (U.S. estimated retail price), with USB 2.0 and PCMCIA adapters to follow later in the year.

"Early this year, we recognized the consumer need for an external CD-RW drive that offers ease of use, portability and an exciting form factor," said Doug Collier, vice president marketing, product management and business development, Iomega Corporation. "Predator richly delivers on that need by providing consumers with a dynamically designed CD-RW drive that is a dramatic departure from the heavy, brick-like look of existing external CD-RW drives."

The Predator is compatible with PC and Macintosh® platforms and sets a new standard for leading edge design, following in the foot steps of Zip®, Jaz(® and other award-winning Iomega products. The comprehensive software suite includes Adaptec® Easy CD CreatorTM 4.0, Adaptec DirectCDTM 3.0, Adaptec ToastTM, MusicMatch® JukeboxTM Plus, MGI PhotoSuite®, Iomega Quik Sync 2 software (30-day trial version) and Adobe® ActiveShareTM software.
