Iomega and OfficeMax Deal Supports New Microsoft Windows Me Promotion

ROY, Utah, September 11, 2000 - Iomega Corporation (NYSE:IOM), a global leader in data management solutions, today announced a multi-million dollar purchase order of Iomega products by OfficeMax Inc. (NYSE:OMX). The deal represents the largest single retail order in Iomega's history.

OfficeMax placed the product order in preparation for its fall promotional schedule, which will kick off on Sept. 14 with a Microsoft Windows(r) Me promotion. As part of the promotion, OfficeMax will offer its customers a free Zip(r) drive with every Windows Me purchase.

"Any OfficeMax or OfficeMax.com customer purchasing a Microsoft Windows Me full version or upgrade will receive a free Iomega 100MB Zip USB drive after a $40 mail-in rebate," said Michael Feuer, OfficeMax's chairman and chief executive officer. "We expect to give our customers over 60,000 Zip drives during the promotion."

In addition, Iomega will supply OfficeMax with a full range of Iomega products, which will be offered to OfficeMax customers throughout its fall promotion schedule.
OfficeMax, which has traditionally offered Iomega drives and disks from Iomega's Zip(r) product line, will add Iomega's PocketZip(tm) and CD-RW product lines to its selection, as well as copies of Iomega's Quik Sync 2 software, which allows a user simultaneous and transparent backup to a chosen file directory.
